Account question
I have the first guild wars and every time I log in it tells me that I'm not authorized to play because i need to buy the game. I believe everything is installed properly. Is there a way to fix this?

did you just have the trial key? if you can check your account info by going to the character select screen->edit account at the bottom->manage access keys and look what it says

Where did you get your game activation code from? ,if you got it free from A-Net when you downloaded the trial then it sounds like your trial has run out so what you need to do is go purchase a copy of the game from your local games shop and use the game activation code that comes supplied with that.
However , if the game activation code you used came with a boxed copy of the game you bought from a shop then you need to contact support and ask them what to do next. |

If you bought the retail package of GW, there would usually be a "buddy" key which you can give to a friend as a trial key. People have been known to use this key instead of the proper "real" key. Look through the materials that came with the game and check if there is another key.
If this is the case, just add the proper key to your current (trial) account and everything should be good to go from where you left off. Of course, there's always the possibility that you bought a used game and got ripped. :P |

when i went into manage access keys it told me the same thing, then i added the key and it said it was in use. I am using the cd key from inside the guild wars double cd case on the back of the single sheet case cover where I'd scratched off the silver stuff

Sounds like you used the buddy key instead of inputting the actual game code.
Take a closer look at the documentation. http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsof...i=&p_topview=1 Perhaps this knowledge base article can help you locate the correct code. |

Sounds like some sort of error. Remember though.. the installation dosen't affect what you can play unless it's corrupt or something or not patched....the key is used to create the account and access things. The problem you are having is with your account on their server end.
Contact support, sounds like theres a problem that just needs to be sorted out. |
